Iranian President Highlights Nezami Ganjavi’s Legacy of Peace and Justice

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that the literary works of renowned 12th-century Persian poet Nezami Ganjavi primarily center on themes of peace and justice.
In a message delivered on Tuesday to a ceremony commemorating Nezami in Iran, Pezeshkian described the poet as a remarkable treasure of Persian literature whose contributions remain a valuable inheritance for humanity. The message was read out by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi.
“Nezami’s messages of wisdom and love continue to echo in the minds of contemporary individuals,” the president noted, underscoring the enduring relevance of the poet’s literary legacy.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei also paid tribute to Nezami, referring to him as a Persian-speaking thinker, scholar, and poet in a post on his official X account.
“The memorable stories of Nezami have imparted love, wisdom, and morality to generations after him,” Baqaei stated, adding that the poet is not only a source of national pride for Iranians but also a cultural treasure for humanity.
Nezami Ganjavi, who lived during the 12th century, is celebrated for his poetic masterpieces, including the Khamsa (Quintet), a collection of five epic romances that have left a profound impact on Persian literature and beyond.
