Iranian President Offers Condolences, Humanitarian Support to Indonesia After Deadly Sumatra Floods

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has extended heartfelt condolences to Indonesia following the devastating floods and landslides that have left at least 442 people dead and hundreds missing on the island of Sumatra, according to Indonesian authorities.
In a message sent on Monday to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, President Pezeshkian said he was deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and extensive damage caused by days of torrential rainfall across the predominantly Muslim region.
“On behalf of the government and people of Iran, I extend my condolences to Your Excellency and the people of Indonesia,” he wrote, expressing prayers for the victims and wishing a speedy recovery for those injured.
President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran’s readiness to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to support communities affected by the disaster. He voiced hope that Indonesia would swiftly overcome the impacts of the severe flooding and landslides.
The disaster, triggered by continuous heavy rainfall, has displaced thousands and caused significant destruction across parts of Sumatra, with rescue and recovery efforts still underway.
