Iranian President Urges Action Against Israeli Aggression During Meeting with Macron

New York, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has voiced grave concerns over the impact of the Israeli regime’s actions on the people of Iran and the broader region, warning that the continuation of such crimes could lead to a situation spiraling out of control. President Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York late Tuesday.

During their discussions, President Pezeshkian called on France to play a more proactive role in preventing the Israeli regime from further escalating its actions. He highlighted Iran’s commitment to self-restraint in the face of aggression, particularly in light of Israel’s recent attacks in Gaza and Lebanon. The Iranian president criticized the US and several Western nations, including France, for justifying these actions as acts of self-defense, emphasizing the hypocrisy of those who claim to advocate for human rights yet remain silent on the suffering of innocent civilians.

President Pezeshkian urged Western countries to abandon their double standards regarding human rights and expressed a desire for unity both domestically and in relations with neighboring countries. He reiterated Iran’s willingness to engage in constructive dialogue and cooperation with European nations.

On the topic of Iran’s nuclear program, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic has never sought and will not pursue nuclear weapons.

In response, President Macron expressed concern about the escalating situation in the region, condemning the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and emphasizing France’s commitment to pressuring Israel to halt its actions.
