Iran’s Top Diplomat Denounces Israeli ‘Red Line’ Breach in Call with Pakistan’s Deputy PM
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has reiterated Iran’s pledge to deliver a decisive and harsh response to the Zionist regime for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, who was a state guest in Tehran.
In a phone call with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, on Saturday night, Bagheri Kani condemned the Israeli actions and emphasized that the regime had crossed a significant red line for the Islamic Republic. The two officials exchanged views on a range of topics, including the criminal act perpetrated by the Zionist regime leading to Haniyeh’s martyrdom.
“Iran’s response will be decisive as the Zionist regime crossed the great red line of Iran by martyring Haniyeh,” stated Bagheri Kani. He also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause and highlighted the expansion of Zionist crimes to Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran.
Bagheri Kani called for Islamic countries and regional actors not to remain silent in the face of Israeli crimes, which he claimed aim to destabilize and undermine the security of the region. He also discussed the possibility of convening an extraordinary foreign ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the assassination and urged Pakistan to support this initiative and leverage its capacity to prevent further Zionist criminal actions.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed his deep condolences for Haniyeh’s martyrdom and welcomed the idea of an OIC meeting to discuss and address Israeli crimes. Dar emphasized the need for the Islamic Ummah to awaken to the Zionist crimes, calling Haniyeh’s assassination a clear violation of international law and Iranian sovereignty.
The conversation between the two officials underscores the heightened tensions in the region and the critical importance of collective action among Islamic countries to counter the threats posed by Israeli actions.
