Israel’s Aggression a “Wake-Up Call” for the Region: Turkish Parliament Speaker

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş on Thursday described Israel’s recent attacks on several regional countries as a “wake-up call,” urging greater unity and cooperation to counter destabilizing actions.
Speaking at a session of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Committee, established in the Turkish parliament as part of the “terror-free Türkiye” initiative, Kurtulmuş condemned Israel’s military strikes in Qatar, Tunisia, and Yemen, characterizing them as proof of its hostile policies.
“Israel has once again made it abundantly clear that it does not recognize the sovereignty of any country. It has demonstrated that it maintains a hostile relationship towards almost all the peoples of the region,” he said.
Kurtulmuş underlined that one of the committee’s key objectives since its inception has been to ensure that a “terror-free Türkiye will be the guarantee of a terror-free region.” He expressed hope for not only a Türkiye where violence is eliminated, but also a wider region “where brotherhood prevails, and where ethnic, sectarian, and political differences become means of integration rather than sources of conflict.”
The parliament speaker emphasized that regional peace and unity remain essential to counter external threats and to build a future based on solidarity and mutual respect.
