Italian government declares state of emergency for flood-hit Tuscany

Rome, The Gulf Observer: The Italian government has declared a state of emergency for the flood-hit region of Tuscany, with an initial allocation of 5 million euros ($5.4 million) for the worst affected areas, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Friday.

Five people have been killed after rivers overflowed following torrential rain in Tuscany, local authorities said.
