Japan and UAE to Launch Negotiations for CEPA

Tokyo, The Gulf Observer: Yōko Kamikawa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, has welcomed the decision by the governments of Japan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to initiate negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two nations.
In an official statement, Kamikawa expressed her optimism that the establishment of an ambitious, balanced, and comprehensive CEPA, alongside the ongoing negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between Japan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), will significantly enhance bilateral economic relations. She highlighted the potential for expanding trade, investment, and collaboration across various sectors.
Kamikawa reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the UAE and strengthening broad economic ties between the two countries.
