Jokowi extends heartfelt wishes for peaceful Christmas to Christian community

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: On Monday, President Joko Widodo, widely known as Jokowi, expressed his warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community, extending heartfelt prayers for peace to encompass all. In a thoughtful address, he conveyed his well wishes, highlighting the significance of this festive season and emphasizing the importance of fostering harmony and unity among all communities. President Jokowi’s message resonated with a call for collective tranquility, encapsulating the spirit of goodwill and shared aspirations for a world marked by peace and understanding.
“Merry Christmas in joy for Christian brothers and sisters,” he stated on Instagram, praying for peace, safety, and prosperity for the people.
“May we all remain peaceful, safe, and prosperous,” Jokowi remarked.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin earlier also delivered a Christmas message for Christians in Indonesia.
He appealed to all Christians in the country to pray for peace for humanity throughout the world during the 2023 Christmas celebrations.
“Let us pray for peace among people throughout the world so that Christmas does not lose its true meaning,” Amin stated via a video broadcast on Sunday.
He remarked that Christmas teaches about love, peace, and hope. Hence, to this end, he appealed to all Christians to continue to spread the Christmas message by sharing and loving each other.
Amin appealed to all Christians in the country to reflect on the meaning of Christmas as a manifestation of the teachings of love for fellow humans.
