Kazakh President Congratulates Putin on 20th Anniversary of Kazakh-Russian Border Treaty
Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has sent a telegram of congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Kazakh-Russian State Border. The historic agreement, signed in Moscow on January 18, 2005, solidified the legal framework for the world’s longest land border, according to the Akorda press service.
“This historically important document, based on universally recognized norms of international law, became a solid foundation for the legal registration of the longest land border in the world and the embodiment of our unshakable friendship, good neighborly relations, and alliance,” President Tokayev stated in the telegram.
The Kazakh President also emphasized his confidence in the continued growth and strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
In related developments, President Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on January 17. The leaders discussed pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, highlighting the high level of strategic partnership and collaboration between Kazakhstan and Hungary.
These engagements underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic relations and alliances on both regional and international fronts.
