Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Arrives in Pakistan for First State Visit

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for his first state visit, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Tokayev landed at Nur Khan Airbase, where he was received by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Kazakh leader is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet ministers and other officials.

During the visit, President Tokayev is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with top government officials and address the Pakistan–Kazakhstan Business Forum, aimed at further strengthening economic and trade ties.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the visit provides an “important and timely opportunity to undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relations,” while exploring new avenues for cooperation in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and collaboration at regional and international platforms.

The Foreign Office emphasized that the visit reflects the strengthening bonds between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, highlighting their mutual commitment to transforming historic and cultural affinities into robust cooperation, and their shared aspiration for peace and progress in the region.
