Kazakh Team Secures 107 Medals at VIII Children of Asia Games

Yakutsk, The Gulf Observer: The closing ceremony of the VIII Children of Asia Summer Games took place at the Tuymaada stadium in Yakutsk on Saturday, according to media reports.

The ceremony featured a parade of winners, with all the victors and prize-winners participating. Among the distinguished guests were Merey Akshalov, chief judge of the VIII Children of Asia Summer Games, and Malik Sapashev, who has repeatedly led the Kazakh delegation at the event.

Team Kazakhstan secured 7th place in the medal standings, earning a total of 107 awards: 17 gold, 31 silver, and 59 bronze.

The VIII Children of Asia International Sports Games were held from June 25 to July 7, 2024, in Yakutsk. Young athletes competed in 24 sports for 239 sets of medals. The competitions included events such as badminton, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, 3×3 basketball, archery, dance sports, taekwondo, mini-football, track and field athletics, and judo.

Team Uzbekistan topped the medal standings with a total of 88 awards, including 36 gold, 31 silver, and 21 bronze. The Siberian Federal District earned 94 medals, with 31 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze, securing second place. The Belarusian team took third place with 78 medals, comprising 27 gold, 21 silver, and 30 bronze.
