Kazakhstan and China Strengthen Strategic Partnership Ahead of CA-China Summit

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing development of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership.

During the meeting, President Tokayev reaffirmed that the ‘Kazakh-Chinese eternal comprehensive strategic partnership is progressing positively and remains future-oriented.’ He expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping for the second CA-China summit, scheduled to be held in Astana in June, will further strengthen bilateral ties and open new horizons for strategic cooperation.

The Kazakh leader reiterated his support for China’s global initiatives aimed at establishing a just world order based on international law and the principles of the UN Charter. Additionally, he confirmed Kazakhstan’s steadfast commitment to the ‘one China’ policy.

Liu Jianchao, in turn, emphasized that China views Kazakhstan as a strategically important partner and places significant importance on deepening their eternal comprehensive partnership.

The discussions also covered avenues for expanding cooperation in trade, economic investment, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges, highlighting the shared commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations between the two nations.
