Kazakhstan and Norway Eager to Enhance Cooperation in Higher Education and Research

Oslo, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Norway, Adil Tursunov, held a productive meeting with Norway’s Minister of Higher Education and Research, Oddmund Hoel, Kazinform News Agency reports, citing the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on the potential for intensified cooperation between Astana and Oslo in the field of scientific research.

Ambassador Tursunov briefed Minister Hoel on Kazakhstan’s higher education policies and highlighted the “Bolashak” international program, which facilitates Kazakh students’ opportunities to study at Norwegian universities. This program aims to foster educational exchange and academic excellence among Kazakh students.

Minister Hoel underscored the opportunities provided by the European Union’s Erasmus+ scholarship program, which promotes the exchange of students and teachers, and the Horizon Europe framework program, which supports research and innovation. He noted the significant potential these programs offer for Kazakh students and researchers.

The meeting concluded with discussions on organizing a visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan to Norway later this year. This visit aims to further solidify bilateral relations and explore additional avenues for collaboration in higher education and research.
