Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, held a productive meeting with Uzbek Minister of Internal Affairs Pulat Bobozhonov, as reported by the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The meeting focused on key aspects of cooperation between Kazakhstan’s diplomatic mission and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, particularly concerning the protection of the rights and interests of Kazakh nationals in Uzbekistan. Discussions included the protocols for interaction and information sharing on issues related to offenses and the detention of Kazakhstani citizens.

Both parties acknowledged the positive trends and increase in mutual visits, highlighting that 63,400 Kazakhstani tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2023. This surge in tourism underscores the growing ties and mutual interest between the two nations.

Ambassador Atamkulov commended the high level of professionalism demonstrated by Uzbekistan’s tourist police department, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of visitors. Additionally, the Kazakh diplomat addressed issues related to migration rule violations, dual citizenship, and the need for enhanced collaboration with Uzbek governmental agencies.

The meeting reinforced the commitment of both countries to protect their citizens’ rights and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors. This ongoing dialogue is expected to foster greater understanding and support between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, benefiting the nationals of both countries.
