Kazakhstan Delegation to Participate in 79th UN General Assembly Session

Astana, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from Kazakhstan, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu, will attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York from September 22 to 28, 2024, as reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press service.

During the session, Minister Nurtleu will deliver remarks at the high-profile “Summit of the Future” and participate in the General Debate, where global leaders gather to address pressing international issues. His agenda will encompass a broad range of topics, including the economy, trade, finance, the environment, healthcare, and regional security, as Kazakhstan continues to play a key role on the world stage.

In addition to the main events, the Kazakh delegation will engage in a series of side meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly. These include sessions with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the ECO-ASEAN platform, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the C5+1 Dialogue, which focuses on regional cooperation between Central Asia and the United States. Notably, the delegation will also attend the Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC), where the specific challenges facing these nations will be discussed.

Minister Nurtleu is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral talks with his counterparts from various countries and with heads of international organizations, further strengthening Kazakhstan’s diplomatic ties and international cooperation efforts.

Kazakhstan’s active participation in the 79th session of the UNGA reaffirms its commitment to multilateralism and global governance, as well as its ongoing contributions to key international initiatives.
