Astana, The Gulf Observer: A strategic session titled “The Future of Tourism in Kazakhstan: Strategies, Challenges, and Solutions” was held in the Kazakh capital, focusing on advancing the country’s tourism sector, according to media reports.

The session highlighted significant achievements in 2024, with the number of foreign tourists doubling to 11.5 million compared to 2023. Revenues from accommodations also surged by 27%, reaching 224 billion tenge, reflecting the growing appeal of Kazakhstan as a global tourism destination.

One of the session’s notable successes was the development of the Kazakhstan Travel Guide project. This initiative, featuring prominent Kazakhstani personalities, aims to enhance the nation’s profile in the international tourism market.

Investment and Development Priorities

Deputy Tourism and Sports Minister Yerzhan Yerkinbayev emphasized the importance of attracting foreign direct investments to bolster the tourism sector. He called for enhanced efforts to position Kazakhstan as a competitive destination in the global tourism arena.
