Kazakhstan Ratifies Readmission Agreement with France to Strengthen Migration Cooperation

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the ratification of the Readmission Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and France, the presidential press service Akorda reported. The full text of the law is to be published in the official press.
The agreement provides a legal framework for the return of citizens to their country of nationality in cases where they have violated conditions of stay, including situations involving the loss of identity documents or illegal residence.
Under the agreement, Kazakh citizens in France will be able to return home without the imposition of sanctions if the competent authorities are notified of the loss of identity documents or unlawful stay. The French Ministry of the Interior will assist in processing the necessary documentation to facilitate their return.
The ratified law establishes a transparent and predictable system of cooperation between the relevant authorities of Kazakhstan and France, helping to minimize legislative gaps and administrative risks. Officials noted that the adoption and implementation of the agreement will enhance the effectiveness of Kazakhstan’s state policy on migration control and further strengthen bilateral and international cooperation in this field.
