Kazakhstan Reaffirms Support for Peace Initiatives in Middle East During High-Level Diplomatic Meeting

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yermek Kosherbayev, held a high-level meeting with ambassadors from the Gulf States and Jordan to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East and explore avenues for strengthening regional cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the ongoing tensions in the region, with particular focus on recent escalations impacting friendly Arab nations. Minister Kosherbayev expressed deep concern over the continued hostilities, highlighting their severe humanitarian consequences, including civilian casualties and damage to critical infrastructure.

He underscored the urgent need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and emphasized Kazakhstan’s firm support for peaceful political dialogue. In this regard, the Foreign Minister welcomed the efforts of Gulf leaders aimed at de-escalation and commended the joint initiative of China and Pakistan to restore peace and stability in the region.

Minister Kosherbayev also expressed gratitude to the diplomatic missions for their assistance in facilitating the evacuation and safe return of Kazakh citizens amid the crisis. Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s constructive role in global diplomacy, he noted the country’s readiness to provide a neutral platform for negotiations in Turkestan.

In response, the ambassadors from the Gulf States and Jordan acknowledged the importance of coordinated international efforts to ensure regional security. They expressed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic engagement with Kazakhstan, enhancing political dialogue, and advancing joint initiatives across multiple sectors.
