Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan discuss issues of regional security

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Viktor Makhmudov met with Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Secretary of the Security Council Gizat Nurdauletov, who arrived in our country to participate in the 17th meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the SCO member states.

Issues of ensuring regional security, as well as the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between law enforcement agencies, special services and defense departments of the two countries were discussed.

An agreement was reached on further strengthening the legal framework for cooperation in the field of security, holding joint events within the framework of bilateral working mechanisms for practical interaction.

Separately, the importance of the mechanism of meetings of the secretaries of the SCO Security Councils and its importance in coordinating efforts in the field of ensuring security in the space of the Organization, including in Afghanistan, was noted.

The meeting also announced joint initiatives and recommendations for further improvement of Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation in the field of security, stressed the importance of maintaining the accumulated intensive dynamics of relations and giving them further impetus.
