King Salman Reconstitutes Supreme Judicial Council

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal decree reconstituting the Supreme Judicial Council, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing the efficiency and integrity of its judicial system.
Under the royal order, Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani has been reappointed as acting chairman of the Council. The new formation includes the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Deputy Minister of Justice, and several distinguished judges.
In a statement following the announcement, Dr. Al-Samaani expressed his profound gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their continued trust and support. He emphasized that the unwavering backing of the Kingdom’s leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the judicial system, promoting transparency, and enhancing its operational effectiveness. He also prayed that God Almighty preserve the nation’s leadership and bless Saudi Arabia with continued security, stability, and prosperity.
According to the royal decree, the following judges were appointed as members of the Supreme Judicial Council for a four-year term under Paragraph B of Article 5 of the Judicial Law: Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sabil, Sheikh Majid Al-Rujai’i, Sheikh Abdul Salam Al-Ghamdi, and Sheikh Saleh Al-Omari.
Additionally, under Paragraph E of Article 5, Sheikh Fahd Al-Majed, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Asmari, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Atram, and Sheikh Mishaal Al-Arini were appointed as Council members for a similar term.
Furthermore, Professor Badr bin Abdul Mohsen, Professor Abdullah Al-Hamad, and Dr. Mishaal Al-Mas’ad were appointed as members under Paragraph W of Article 5 of the Judicial Law, also for a four-year term.
The newly appointed members expressed their appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the royal confidence bestowed upon them. They affirmed that this trust is both an honor and a responsibility that will inspire them to continue working diligently in the service of the judiciary and the nation.
The reconstitution of the Supreme Judicial Council reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the rule of law and ensure that judicial institutions continue to uphold justice in accordance with Islamic principles and the vision of Saudi Arabia’s leadership.
