Kingdom of Morocco Confirms Date of Mawlid Al Nabawi as September 5

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: Morocco will celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, known as Mawlid Al Nabawi, on Thursday, September 5, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced.
The ministry confirmed the date following moon-sighting observations across the country, which determined that the crescent of the lunar month of Rabi’ al-Awwal was not visible on Saturday evening. As a result, the month of Safar lasted 30 days, making Monday, August 25, the beginning of the new month.
In its statement, the ministry conveyed prayers of blessings, peace, and prosperity to King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, members of the royal family, and the Moroccan people. It also extended its greetings to Muslims around the world on the occasion.
Mawlid Al Nabawi holds deep significance for Muslims as it commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad. In Morocco, the day is marked with prayers, religious teachings, and cultural traditions. Families gather to reflect on the Prophet’s life and values, and many observe it as a time of joy, unity, and giving.
