Kuwait exempt Bangladeshi workers from attending in person

Kuwait City, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Interior issued instructions to the Residency affairs department to exempt Bangladeshi workers from attending in person along with their sponsors to document fingerprints during renewal of residence.

There are around 258,000 Bangladeshis including 86,000 domestic workers, 99% are males. Previously Bangladeshi nationals  were required to attend in person to document their fingerprints to ensure the correct identity of the person as mentioned in the passport to avoid forgery besides verifying criminal record.

During pandemics renewal of residence was implemented online which made it difficult for this procedure, reports Al Rai. The Ministry of Interior issued an instruction that those who have been previously fingerprinted in the year 2020 – 2021 do not require their presence with their sponsors unless there is no previous fingerprint registered in the last 2 years.
