Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang highlighted the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving the development of new, high-quality productive forces during his inspection of technology organizations in Beijing on Wednesday. As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Premier Li underlined the importance of advancing computing capabilities, promoting algorithm breakthroughs, and maximizing data utilization.

During a symposium held as part of his inspection, Premier Li stressed the significance of AI as a crucial engine for innovation, urging concerted efforts to elevate computing levels and facilitate breakthroughs in algorithms. In his visit to Baidu, a prominent Chinese tech company, Premier Li delved into the development and application of large language model (LLM) products. Premier Li also visited Beijing’s High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone, where he advocated for leveraging advancements in autonomous driving technology to propel the development of the automotive industry and the construction of smart cities.

During his stop at Naura Technology, a semiconductor manufacturer, Premier Li encouraged increased investment in science and technology. He urged the company to intensify efforts in the development of advanced process equipment, emphasizing the critical role of technological innovation in staying competitive on the global stage.

At the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, a non-profit AI research organization, Premier Li explored the frontier technologies related to LLM. He called for a collective commitment to reaching the world’s advanced level in AI, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to achieve new breakthroughs in the field.
