Major Milestone Achieved for the Mohammed bin Zayed College of Future Studies in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, The Gulf Observer: In a momentous ceremony, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and Suhail Mohammed Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, joined forces to witness the laying of the foundation stone for the Mohammed bin Zayed College of Future Studies in Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java.
This event marks a significant step forward for the college, a collaborative effort between the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities and the Nahdlatul Ulama Society in Indonesia. The establishment of the college aligns with Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities’ commitment to enhancing higher education opportunities in the fields of future studies, humanities, and other sciences.
The Mohammed bin Zayed College of Future Studies aspires to promote fundamental principles and values, including tolerance, coexistence, respect for others, sustainability, nature conservation, and environmental protection within the realm of future studies. Moreover, it aims to bolster research and academic ties between the participating universities.
During the ceremony, President Joko Widodo expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his support in transforming the vision of the “Mohammed Bin Zayed College of Future Studies” into a reality. President Widodo emphasized the project’s significance as a symbol of the strong and enduring friendship between Indonesia and the UAE, carrying messages that underscore the values of Islam.
Minister Al Mazrouei conveyed his appreciation to President Widodo for his generous patronage and personal presence at the launch of this groundbreaking cultural project. He praised the shared vision of the two nations’ leadership in opening new horizons through joint innovative initiatives that contribute to sustainable projects, economic and social progress, and the responsible use of natural resources.
“The Mohammed Bin Zayed College for Future Studies is a testament to the sophisticated human culture embraced by both countries,” said Al Mazrouei. He highlighted the importance of anticipating the future through specialized academic programs, with the aim of producing enlightened and qualified national leaders capable of improving the world’s current reality.
A cooperation agreement to establish the college was signed by Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Dr. Widya Priyahita Buji Budoyo, President of Nahdlatul Ulama University. This agreement solidifies the commitment of both institutions to jointly conduct future research and studies, positioning the Mohammed bin Zayed College of Future Studies as a nucleus of academic excellence.
