Malaysia to Integrate Vertical School in Penang Housing Project: PM Anwar

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the incorporation of a vertical school within the Rumah Bakat Madani housing project in Penang is expected to significantly enhance student safety and reduce transportation costs for families.
In a statement shared via his official Facebook page on Wednesday, Prime Minister Anwar emphasized that integrating educational facilities into residential developments reflects the Madani government’s broader vision to cultivate compassionate communities grounded in Madani values.
“This initiative goes beyond physical infrastructure and architectural aesthetics. It underscores our commitment to improving the holistic well-being of the people,” he stated. “The planned vertical school element, integrated with the housing project, aims to ensure student safety, and I believe it can also help families save on transportation costs.”
The Prime Minister further stressed the importance of efficient inter-agency collaboration in accelerating the implementation of such projects. He noted that the government prioritizes swift approval processes through close cooperation among federal ministries, government agencies, and state authorities.
The Rumah Bakat Madani project is spearheaded by private developer SkyWorld and is designed to enable low- and middle-income households to access affordable and high-quality housing options. Anwar highlighted that the development will include not only residential units but also comprehensive community infrastructure.
“I was informed that the development will also include essential facilities such as schools, childcare centres, surau, commercial spaces, landscaped areas, and parks,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister attended a presentation session with representatives of SkyWorld in Putrajaya, where the project’s concept and integration of educational and communal features were discussed in detail.
The Rumah Bakat Madani initiative is part of the Malaysian government’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive urban planning and enhance quality of life through accessible housing, education, and social services in line with its Madani nation-building agenda.
