Marcos Administration Launches Bagong Pilipinas Youth Movement to Empower Filipino Youth

Bagong Pilipinas

Mandaluyong City, The Gulf Observer: The Marcos administration on Saturday officially launched the Bagong Pilipinas Youth (BPY), a nationwide movement for youth empowerment chaired by presidential son Vinny Marcos, coinciding with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan (National Youth Week) 2025.

The event also marked the inauguration of the first BPY Hub at the Bagong Pilipinas headquarters in Mandaluyong City — a dedicated space designed to foster youth collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

Gathering student leaders, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officers, youth advocates, media partners, and supporters, the launch was hailed as a milestone in advancing the national youth development agenda.

A Platform for Youth Leadership and Civic Engagement

BPY aims to empower young Filipinos to become proactive agents of change by creating platforms for civic engagement, leadership development, education, and innovation.

Vinny Marcos, who chairs the initiative, emphasized that BPY is “more than just a youth organization,” describing it as a movement that positions youth leadership as the norm.

“We are all partners in guiding, inspiring, and leading the Filipino youth toward strengthening this Republic, for they are the future leaders of this country and the hope of our nation,” Marcos said.

He urged young Filipinos to take the lead in shaping the country’s future rather than waiting for opportunities to arrive.

BPY Hub: A Space for Innovation and Solidarity

The newly inaugurated BPY Hub will serve as a collaborative center for idea development, structured programs, and youth-led activities. Project proposals unveiled during the launch include a Youth Voters’ Registration Hub, monthly Youth Hangouts, and the Bagong Kabataan Academy, offering leadership training, film screenings, and sports tournaments.

Additional initiatives highlighted were mental health caravans, anti-bullying seminars, community cleanups, songwriting and band competitions, spelling contests, and programs for out-of-school youth.

Call for Multi-Sectoral Support

Marcos stressed the importance of broad support for BPY, urging government agencies, the private sector, non-government organizations, schools, and communities to invest in youth programs. He also thanked private partners who have pledged resources for BPY’s initiatives, aimed at nurturing confident, innovative, and impactful young leaders.

The launch of BPY is aligned with the national vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who has consistently underscored the critical role of Filipino youth in nation-building.

The event concluded with a call for unity and shared responsibility in cultivating youth leadership for a just, inclusive, and progressive Philippines.
