MCEF and China Kunming ASEAN Association Hold Talks to Boost Construction Cooperation

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Federation (MCEF) held a high-level meeting with a delegation from the China Kunming ASEAN Association on June 28 to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging views on key matters related to the construction sector.
The meeting took place in the Oval Room of MCEF headquarters and was attended by Vice-President Zhao Yaung, leading the delegation from the China Kunming ASEAN Association, alongside U Ko Ko Lay, General Secretary of MCEF. Other senior MCEF representatives participating in the discussions included Joint General Secretary Daw Yi Wyne Oo, Assistant Information Officer U Min Naing, Central Committee Members U Thein Htun, Daw Mya Thaung Wai, Daw Yi Yi, and member U Bo Bo.
The discussions focused on fostering collaboration, sharing technical expertise, and exploring potential opportunities for joint projects between Myanmar and Chinese stakeholders in the construction industry. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships to support sustainable development and economic growth in the region.
In a related development, the MCEF also hosted a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony on June 26 at its headquarters, marking a significant step towards greater cooperation with AYA Bank Public Company Limited (PCL). The MoU aims to facilitate collaboration in the fields of banking and construction, providing enhanced financial services to support infrastructure development initiatives across Myanmar.
The MCEF continues to engage with international and domestic partners to promote innovation, capacity-building, and investment in Myanmar’s construction sector, recognizing its vital role in driving economic progress and connectivity within the ASEAN region.
