Mirziyoyev Congratulates Tokayev on Successful Referendum in Telephone Conversation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on March 16 with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

During the call, the Uzbek leader sincerely congratulated Tokayev on the successful holding of the nationwide referendum on the draft of the new Constitution in Kazakhstan.

Mirziyoyev noted that the adopted constitutional updates would serve as a reliable legal foundation and provide additional momentum for the country’s sustainable development, while also strengthening Kazakhstan’s position on the international stage.

The two leaders also reviewed current issues related to enhancing the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, particularly in the context of implementing agreements reached during previous high-level meetings.

Special attention was given to advancing joint projects and programs across several key sectors, including trade and economic cooperation, investment, transport connectivity, as well as cultural and humanitarian collaboration.

In addition, the presidents exchanged views on pressing issues on the regional and international agenda and discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral engagements.

At the conclusion of the conversation, Mirziyoyev and Tokayev also exchanged warm greetings ahead of the upcoming holidays of Eid al-Fitr (Ramadan Hayit) and Navruz, wishing the brotherly peoples of both countries peace, prosperity, and continued well-being.
