Ankara, The Gulf Observer: The Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) successfully neutralized Islam Cehanfer, identified as one of the purported leaders of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK.

The operation took place in the countryside of Pencevin, Suleymaniye, Iraq, situated approximately 200 kilometers from the Turkish border. Security sources indicate that MIT had been monitoring the activities of PKK/YPG’s self-proclaimed battalion chief, Islam Cehanfer, also known as “Berhudan Kelhor,” of Iranian origin. The operation effectively neutralized Cehanfer in the Penjevin countryside, where he was reportedly active in overseeing PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG members and providing medical assistance to injured organization members during his time in Syria, extending his influence to Iraq and Syria.
