Moldova’s FM Commends Strong Relations with Türkiye

Antalya, The Gulf Observer: Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mihai Popsoi, has lauded the robust and constructive relations between Moldova and Türkiye, underscoring Ankara’s pivotal role as a “stabilizing force” in the region. Speaking on the sidelines of the 2024 Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), Popsoi highlighted the depth of bilateral ties and expressed eagerness to further enhance cooperation in various spheres.
“We have great bilateral relations with Türkiye. We have great contacts at the highest level,” stated Popsoi during discussions with reporters at the ADF.
Emphasizing the multifaceted nature of Moldova’s aspirations for collaboration with Türkiye, Popsoi stressed the importance of strengthening ties in political, economic, and security domains. He articulated Moldova’s desire for Türkiye to play a more prominent role, commending Türkiye’s vision and active participation in the region as a harbinger of peace, stability, and meaningful engagement.
“We appreciate Türkiye’s vision and participation in the region as an actor of peace and as an actor that promotes stability and engagement. So, I am very much looking forward to cooperating more with Türkiye,” he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also underscored the vital role of platforms such as the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, particularly during challenging times. Popsoi expressed the necessity of such forums, where leaders, ministers, and prime ministers can converge to engage in frank discussions, find solutions, and, hopefully, implement these solutions to the benefit of their people and the broader region.
