Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram participated as a Guest Speaker at Iqbal Day Seminar Hosted by China Media Group and Bahria University
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 8th November 2024, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) participated as a guest speaker in Seminar on “Iqbal Day” jointly organized by China Media Group in collaboration with Bahria Humanities and Social Sciences School, Bahria University, Islamabad, highlighting the ongoing cultural ties and mutual respect between Pakistan and China.
The seminar commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Jaining Du, Bureau Chief of the China Media Group’s Islamabad Office, and Mr. Tasawwur Zaman, a Producer at CMG. They welcomed a diverse audience and expressed the significance of Iqbal Day, honoring the contributions of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, whose philosophical and poetic works continue to inspire generations in Pakistan and beyond.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a thought-provoking speech on “China-Pakistan Culture and Literary Relations.” In his address, Mr. Akram underscored the deep-rooted cultural connections between the two nations, emphasizing how literature and artistic exchange can foster mutual understanding and strengthen bilateral relations.
Dr. Abdul Waheed Rana, an Assistant Professor at Bahria University, recited poems by Allama Iqbal. His recitation focused on themes of regional connectivity, reflecting Iqbal’s vision of a united and progressive South Asia.
The atmosphere became even more vibrant when Mr. Waris performed a selection of poetry, celebrating Iqbal’s enduring legacy through music. His rendition captivated attendees, providing a dynamic and emotional tribute to the poet-philosopher’s ideas about self-discovery, empowerment, and community.
Concluding the seminar, Prof. Dr. Adam Saud, Principal of the Humanities and Social Sciences School at Bahria University, delivered the Vote of Thanks. He expressed gratitude to all the speakers and participants for their invaluable contributions, acknowledging the successful collaboration between CMG and Bahria University in hosting the event. Dr. Saud emphasized the importance of continuing dialogues like this seminar to promote cultural appreciation and scholarly exchange.
