Myanmar’s Acting President Min Aung Hlaing Visits Harbin for Aerospace and Energy Cooperation Talks

Harbin, The Gulf Observer: Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing continued his working visit to China with a trip to Harbin, where he explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation in aerospace and energy sectors.

The Senior General and his delegation departed Beijing Capital International Airport for Harbin at 8 a.m. Chinese Standard Time yesterday, where they were seen off by officials from the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. Upon arrival at Taiping International Airport at 9:30 a.m., the delegation was welcomed by a senior Chinese government representative at the deputy minister level, along with other officials.

The Acting President’s itinerary began with a visit to the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), where he was received by Mr. Han Jie Cai, President of the university, and other officials. At the HIT museum, the delegation viewed exhibits highlighting China’s advancements in missile production, rocket and satellite innovation, nuclear and hydrogen bomb development, space exploration, and lunar landing missions.

Discussions centered on strengthening cooperation and sharing aerospace technologies between Myanmar and HIT. As part of the visit, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepted a scale model of a Chinese space station presented by the institute’s president, reciprocating with a gift of his own.

In the afternoon, the delegation toured Harbin Electric Corporation. Welcomed by senior executives, they were briefed on the company’s expertise in hydropower, wind, solar, and nuclear energy generation, as well as the production of generators, coal-fired power equipment, and green energy solutions. The Acting President also observed AI-driven machinery production and discussed future collaboration on hydropower projects in Myanmar.

The visit concluded with an exchange of gifts between Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Harbin Electric Corporation officials.
