Yangon, The Gulf Observer: Myanmar’s Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, conducted on-site inspections in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday to assess and coordinate ongoing repair and renovation efforts following the recent earthquake.

Accompanied by Union ministers, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, and the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, the Vice-Senior General visited ministerial offices, staff housing complexes, and dormitories affected by the quake.

At the Ministry of Energy, he received reports on structural damage, temporary operations from prefabricated offices, and the installation of modular housing for displaced staff. He personally inspected damage to the Union Minister’s office and the Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise office building, observing the repair progress.

He then proceeded to the Ministry of Planning and Finance, where he reviewed damage assessments and repair updates for both the main office and surrounding buildings, providing guidance and support to ensure a swift restoration process.

In Thukha Theikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, the Vice-Senior General visited Building 6209, labeled with a blue safety tag indicating it is fit for resettlement. He examined repairs managed by the Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association and engaged with resettled staff families, inquiring about their daily living conditions and access to State-provided essential food items.

At Building 3107 in Nyana Theikdi Ward, he observed the ongoing repairs being conducted by the Myanmar Building Development Association using the Stitching Method, giving on-site directives to ensure proper rehabilitation.

Further inspections took place at the Thazin (2) Female Dormitory (Building 1) and the Thazin (5) Male Dormitory (Building 11). Here, walls sustained minor cracks during the earthquake, and repair teams from the Construction Entrepreneurs Association were using a specialized crack-filling mixture of Sikalastic liquid, Sika Grout, and cement.

Throughout the visits, Vice-Senior General Soe Win emphasized the importance of safety, timely completion, and welfare of affected personnel, offering immediate coordination with relevant bodies to address urgent staff needs and ensure a return to normalcy.
