National Leader of Turkmenistan Inspects Arkadag City Construction from Helicopter
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, conducted an aerial inspection of the city of Arkadag on Monday to assess the progress of construction activities, particularly the development of new medical centers and urban infrastructure.
According to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, during his helicopter flight over the new administrative center, Berdimuhamedov closely observed ongoing work at key sites, including healthcare facilities both under construction and already operational in the capital region.
The report highlighted that over 70% of the completed construction efforts are focused on social infrastructure, reflecting the government’s priority on enhancing public welfare.
From the air, the National Leader reviewed the layout and development status of production complexes that are integral to the emerging medical cluster, as well as facilities such as a carpet factory. He also examined sites where construction is soon to commence.
Berdimuhamedov underscored the importance of proper architectural design and the landscaping of surrounding areas to preserve a healthy ecological environment in the new city. Special attention was given to the construction pace of a major mosque in Arkadag, which he stated complies with modern standards in both quality and building dynamics.
The city of Arkadag, being developed in accordance with the “smart city” concept, is currently undergoing its second phase of construction at an accelerated pace. Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Arkadag reflects international standards across its infrastructure, combining cultural, social, industrial, and recreational elements into a harmonious urban environment.
These large-scale projects are being carried out under Turkmenistan’s National Program for Socio-Economic Development for 2022–2052, as part of the country’s comprehensive transformation agenda aimed at ensuring sustainable growth and improved quality of life for its citizens.
