Nearly 15,000 Participants from 169 Countries Register for World Urban Forum 2026 in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Nearly 15,000 participants from 169 countries have already registered to attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku in May 2026, according to Anar Guliyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and National Coordinator of WUF13.

Speaking at a briefing held on the sidelines of the 13th Global Baku Forum, Guliyev highlighted the strong international interest in the upcoming global event focused on urban development and sustainable cities.

He noted that approximately 30 percent of the registered participants represent local and regional executive authorities, reflecting the growing role of cities and local governments in addressing global urbanization challenges.

Guliyev also emphasized that the forum’s official website, WUF13.az, serves as the primary information platform for participants, providing comprehensive details on visa procedures, accommodation, and transportation options.

He underscored the important role of media representatives in covering the forum, noting that journalists not only disseminate information about WUF13 but also help foster global partnerships and promote new policy initiatives related to urban development.

The WUF13 National Coordinator further stated that Baku is fully prepared to welcome guests and delegates from around the world for the landmark event in May 2026.
