New Air Cargo Route Launched Between Southwest China and Pakistan
Guiyang, The Gulf Observer: A new air cargo route was inaugurated on Tuesday, linking southwest China’s Guizhou Province with Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city. This significant development marks the first air route connecting Guizhou and Pakistan, as well as the province’s first air freight route with a Belt and Road Initiative country.
The launch was marked by an all-cargo plane carrying 6 tonnes of freight, including clothing, electronic products, and other commodities. The flight departed from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, on Tuesday morning and arrived in Karachi after nearly six hours. According to Guiyang Customs, the return flight will bring blue crabs from Pakistan to Guiyang.
This new route is expected to enhance Guiyang’s status as a cargo distribution center in southwest China. Officials highlighted that it would significantly reduce the time needed for Pakistan’s quality fresh products to reach Guizhou, thereby boosting trade and economic ties between the two regions.
The establishment of this air cargo link is a strategic move to strengthen the connectivity and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, providing a new impetus for economic growth and exchange between China and Pakistan.
