New TV channel Arkadag to start broadcasting in Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on the creation of a new TV channel Arkadag, the official Turkmen media reported.
According to the Decree, the Arkadag TV channel of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography will start airing programs in September at 15 hours a day schedule.
The agreement was signed to prepare professional programs that reveal and promote the great deeds and achievements of independent neutral Turkmenistan, including the Arkadag city, as well as to increase the effectiveness of Turkmen television and improve the work of the State Committee on Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography.
The document also approved the structure of the State Committee’s central apparatus.
The document instructs the State Committee on Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography to prepare and submit proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers within a month regarding amendments and additions to Turkmen legislation arising from the Decree.
