Oman and Türkiye Sign Landmark Agreements and MoUs During President Erdogan’s State Visit

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye presided over the signing ceremony of a joint declaration and communiqué, six agreements, and eight memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at Al Alam Palace on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the deepening of Omani–Turkish relations.

The signing ceremony took place as part of President Erdogan’s state visit to the Sultanate of Oman, aimed at advancing cooperation across strategic, economic, and technological sectors.

Among the key outcomes of the visit was the establishment of the Omani–Turkish Coordinating Council, designed to enhance coordination and institutionalize dialogue between the two countries.

Agreements signed included capital participation deals between Amber Limited — a special purpose company owned by the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) — and the Turkish OYAK Fund, as well as between the Uzbek–Omani Company (Uzbek Oman) and the OYAK Fund. Additional accords covered cooperation between Oman Food Investment Holding Company (Nitaj) and OYAK Holding for Food and Agriculture, a cooperation agreement between Oman Data Company and Turkish IT firm “Inovance”, and a government-to-government agreement regarding the allocation of land for the Turkish Maarif Foundation to establish an educational institution in Oman.

Another significant partnership agreement was signed between Sinan Advanced Industries and ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense and electronics company, further strengthening industrial and technological collaboration between the two nations.

The MoUs signed covered broad areas of cooperation, including military collaboration and defense industries, media and communications, technology and innovation, and strategic cooperation between the Oman Investment Authority and the Türkiye Wealth Fund. They also encompassed joint initiatives in the fields of mining and rare minerals, reflecting both countries’ shared focus on sustainable resource development and industrial diversification.

On behalf of the Omani government, the agreements and MoUs were signed by senior officials including:

  • Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information
  • Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority
  • Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion
  • Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning
  • Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals
  • Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence
  • Majid bin Sultan Al Hinai, CEO of Sinan Advanced Industries

On behalf of the Turkish government, signatories included:
