Oman condemns continued massacres by Israel against Palestinians

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman on Saturday expressed its strong condemnation of the continued massacres and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people and the targeting of civilians and health sector facilities.

Specific incidents called out include: the horrific and brutal massacre that targeted the Osama bin Zaid School affiliated with UNRWA in the northern Gaza Strip, where hundreds of Palestinian families sought refuge in search of safety from the devastating bombing of the occupation forces, as well as today’s bombing of Al-Fakhoura School affiliated with UNRWA in Jabalia and the entrance to Al-Nasr Hospital for children in western Gaza and the bombing of a public water tank that supplies several neighbourhoods east of Rafah, located in the south of the Strip.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate stressed the need for a real awakening of the international community, based on its moral, legal and humanitarian responsibilities, to put an end to this clear recklessness and arbitrariness of Israel and its violation of international laws and conventions, and to request the International Criminal Court to form a court for war crimes committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza and to prosecute war criminals.

The Ministry’s statement stressed that immediately stopping this brutal war is an urgent necessity that the international community must not overlook, and called for a firm stance towards the ongoing Israeli violations against innocent, defenceless civilians and for enabling the delivery of urgent and necessary humanitarian aid to them.

It stressed resolutions of international legitimacy and the firm Omani position towards the Palestinian issue, calling for Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied Palestinian territories to the 1967 borders and enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, by the principle of the two-state solution and based on international law.
