Oman Extends National ID Card Validity to 10 Years

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced the extension of the validity period of the Omani National ID card from the current five years to ten years, aligning it with the validity period of the Omani passport.
The decision, issued by the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of Police and Customs, is aimed at saving time, reducing administrative effort, and streamlining procedures for citizens.
According to the ROP, the move reflects ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency in public services and facilitate convenience for the public, while ensuring that the validity of key identification documents is in harmony with international best practices.
