Oman Intensifies Diplomatic Outreach to Reinforce Ceasefire and Regional Stability

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, has continued active diplomatic engagements amid evolving regional developments, holding a series of high-level telephone conversations with counterparts from friendly and sisterly nations over the past week.

According to official sources, the discussions focused on the latest regional developments, particularly the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. The talks emphasized the importance of supporting ongoing mediation efforts and consolidating the ceasefire to pave the way for lasting peace, mutual understandings, and an end to hostilities and violence.

During these engagements, Minister Al Busaidi held discussions with a wide range of international counterparts, including Sergey Lavrov of the Russian Federation, José Manuel Albares of the Spain, Paulo Rangel of the Portugal, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla of Cuba, Mohamad Hasan of Malaysia, and Toshimitsu Motegi of Japan.

Additional consultations were held with senior officials and representatives from various regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Americas, reflecting Oman’s broad-based diplomatic outreach aimed at fostering consensus on peace initiatives.

The calls also extended to international organizations, including discussions with Khaled El Enany of the UNESCO, as well as Yasutoshi Nishimura, a member of Japan’s parliament and president of the Oman-Japan Association, highlighting efforts to strengthen both multilateral and bilateral cooperation.

Oman’s diplomatic initiative underscores its longstanding role as a mediator in regional affairs, reaffirming its commitment to dialogue, de-escalation, and the promotion of peace and stability in the region.
