Oman Participates in 10th Session of Arab-China Cooperation Forum

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman actively participated in the 10th session of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum, held Thursday at the Hospitality Palace in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China. The forum was inaugurated by Chinese President Xi Jinping and attended by several Arab leaders, foreign ministers, and government representatives.
Oman’s delegation to the meeting was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs. This session marked the 20th anniversary of the forum’s establishment in 2004, focusing on the progress achieved in fostering joint cooperation, exploring future prospects of common interests, and coordinating positions on regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
In his address at the meeting, Al Harthy praised the strategic partnership and cooperative relations between the Arab states and the People’s Republic of China. He also highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and China.
Al Harthy expressed appreciation for China’s principled stance against Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He urged other international parties to adopt a similar stance to achieve a just, comprehensive, and sustainable resolution to the issue. He reiterated the call for the implementation of the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, which envisions the realization of the Two-State Solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds A’Sharqiyah) as its capital.
The forum continues to serve as a vital platform for enhancing Arab-China relations, addressing shared challenges, and promoting peace and stability in the region.
