Oman Participates in 164th Arab Foreign Ministers’ Council Session in Cairo

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman today took part in the 164th session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, convened at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
Oman’s delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.
During the meeting, the Arab Ministerial Council strongly condemned Israeli practices in the Gaza Strip, including acts of killing, starvation, systematic destruction, and threats to the sovereignty of Arab states. It emphasized that such violations constitute a direct threat to Arab national security, underscoring the need for a unified and resolute Arab stance.
The ministers called for an immediate cessation of the war and stressed the importance of allowing unhindered humanitarian, medical, and food aid into Gaza. They urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to comply with international law and humanitarian law.
The Council commended countries that have recognized the State of Palestine and urged others to expedite their recognition as part of efforts to advance the two-state solution and promote a just and comprehensive peace process.
In addition, the Council adopted a resolution on safeguarding Arab national security, reaffirming its rejection of foreign interference in Arab states’ internal affairs and reiterating respect for their sovereignty. It also stressed the need to end Israeli occupation, halt settlement activities, and place all nuclear facilities in the region — including those of Israel — under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in line with the universality of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
