Oman Participates in 28th GCC Information Ministers’ Meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait City, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 28th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Information Ministers, held on Monday in the State of Kuwait.

Oman’s delegation was headed by Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.

The high-level meeting focused on strengthening and advancing media cooperation among GCC member states. Discussions included joint media efforts, proposed initiatives and projects under the GCC Strategic Media Cooperation Plan (2023–2030), and strategies for enhancing collaborative frameworks across the region.

Key topics on the agenda included the age classification of electronic games, formulation of guidelines and regulations for Gulf media production, and expanding media partnerships with regional and international organisations. Ministers also reviewed proposals for the integration of artificial intelligence in media production, the development of Gulf media leadership training programmes, and the media’s role in supporting family and societal cohesion.

In conjunction with the meeting, a pilot version of the joint electronic application for GCC news agencies was officially launched, marking a step forward in digital integration and real-time news collaboration across the region.
