Oman Participates in UNODC Extraordinary Meeting on Narcotics
Vienna, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the National Committee for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, is actively participating in the extraordinary meeting organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. The meeting is being held from 28 August to 30 August 2024.
This significant gathering brings together international experts and representatives from various countries to discuss pressing issues related to narcotics and psychotropic substances. A key focus of the meeting is the growing role of social media in the electronic trafficking of these substances. Participants will review the efforts made by organizations and security establishments worldwide to combat this escalating threat.
Oman’s delegation is expected to contribute insights and share experiences in addressing the challenges posed by the illegal trade and misuse of narcotics and psychotropic substances. The country remains committed to enhancing its collaboration with international partners in combating this global menace.
