Oman to Inaugurate Tallest Flagpole in the Sultanate on May 23

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Muscat Municipality has announced that the tallest flagpole in the Sultanate of Oman will be officially inaugurated on Friday, May 23, 2025. The monumental structure is located in Al Khuwair Square, in the heart of the Ministries District.

The flagpole stands at an impressive height of 126 metres and spans an area exceeding 18,000 square metres. Constructed from iron and comprising 135 tonnes of steel, the structure is a significant engineering feat and a new landmark for the capital.

The outer diameter of the flagpole measures 2,800 millimetres at the base and narrows to 900 millimetres at its highest point. It will proudly display the Omani national flag, which measures 18 metres in length and 31.5 metres in width.

To ensure safety and visibility, especially for air navigation, the flagpole is equipped with an aircraft warning lighting system.

The inauguration of this landmark underscores the Sultanate’s commitment to enhancing national pride and beautifying urban spaces through iconic developments.
