Oman’s Royal Academy of Management (RAM) Unveils Ambitious Programmes for Academic Year 2024

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) hosted a comprehensive media briefing today to unveil its strategic initiatives for the academic year 2024. Chaired by Sayyid Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of RAM, the event outlined a series of visionary programmes designed to shape the future of leadership and work in the government sector, with a focus on directors general in the GCC states.
The highlighted approaches for achieving impact and leadership encompass five fundamental principles. Firstly, RAM aims to support the development of an integrated system for executive learning. Secondly, the academy emphasizes quality and sustainability as key guidelines for impactful initiatives. The third approach focuses on establishing strong connections with beneficiaries, understanding and responding to their needs and aspirations. The fourth approach aligns local content with global trends to promote consistency. Lastly, RAM advocates for a genre of leadership that combines flexibility, experimentation, and innovation.
In addition to these approaches, RAM introduced two groundbreaking programmes targeted at future leaders in the government and private sectors. These initiatives aim to equip emerging talents with knowledge, skills, visions, and strategies, emphasizing the conversion of theory into tangible reality.
The array of programmes presented during the briefing includes the Programme on Policy and Strategic Planning, the National Programme for Developing Leadership and anticipating the future, the Programme for Developing the Potential of Women Leaders, the Programme on Training New Government Employees, the Executive Strategic Planning Programme, the Professional Project Management Programme, and the Flexibility and Risk Management Programme.
For the business sector, RAM offers programmes such as the National Programme for CEOs and the Endorsement Programme codenamed “Eitimad.”
These programmes stem from the National Initiative to Develop Local Management, covering initiatives such as the Governors’ Programme, the Capabilities Programme for planning and economics in the governorates, and the Municipal Council Members Programme.
The Future Readiness Initiatives introduced by RAM encompass forums and dialogues on emerging trends in governments, economies, and higher education institutions. These initiatives aim to enable leaders to understand future developments and seize opportunities while benefiting from experiences and initiatives that positively impact global economies.
The media briefing concluded with a significant milestone – the launch of a postage stamp celebrating the first anniversary of RAM’s opening under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The stamp symbolizes RAM’s noble mission as a pioneering lighthouse in modern executive management, showcasing a photograph of His Majesty the Sultan inaugurating the RAM.
