Pakistan and Canada Agree to Strengthen Economic and Trade Ties During Bilateral Meeting in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation and trade, during a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting in the Malaysian capital on Thursday.

The meeting took place between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. Both sides acknowledged the positive trajectory of Pakistan–Canada relations and expressed a shared interest in scaling up mutual engagement, with a particular focus on expanding trade and investment opportunities.

Senator Ishaq Dar extended an official invitation to the Canadian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan, which Minister Anand accepted with appreciation, indicating her country’s willingness to deepen bilateral dialogue and cooperation across various sectors.

The meeting served as an important step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Canada, while also reflecting both countries’ broader commitment to regional and multilateral cooperation under the ASEAN framework.
