Pakistan Ready to Welcome Expanded UAE Investment, Says PM Shehbaz

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to welcome enhanced investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) across key sectors, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, agriculture and minerals.
Speaking at a ceremony held in Islamabad to mark the 54th National Day of the UAE, the prime minister described the Pakistan–UAE economic partnership as a “shining example,” noting that the UAE continued to extend “critical support to Pakistan’s stabilizing economy.”
Extending warm felicitations on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the UAE leadership and people. “My heartiest felicitations to my dear brother Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, as well as to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” he said.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, parliamentarians, diplomats and members of civil society.
Reflecting on his longstanding ties with the UAE, Shehbaz Sharif recalled his early impressions of a nation driven by ambition and possibility. He praised the UAE’s extraordinary development trajectory, crediting not only its current leadership but also its founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whom he called “the real architect of the great brotherhood, fraternity and friendship between Pakistan and the UAE.”
The prime minister emphasized the strength of people-to-people relations, noting that 1.8 million Pakistanis consider the UAE their second home and continue to contribute significantly to its economic growth across multiple sectors. “Pakistanis are making great contributions in nation-building efforts in the UAE,” he said.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with the UAE, expressing hope for expanded cooperation, shared prosperity and lasting peace for both nations and the region at large.
Addressing the gathering, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the realms of economy, energy and artificial intelligence. He stressed that the two countries shared common values and a mutual vision for regional peace and sustainable development.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the UAE ambassador to commemorate the UAE’s National Day.
