Pakistan Schools Oman Celebrates Golden Jubilee, Marking 50 Years of Excellence and Service

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan Schools Oman celebrated its Golden Jubilee with great pride and dignity, marking 50 years of academic excellence, moral education, cultural harmony, and dedicated service to humanity. The momentous event, held in Muscat, was graced by the presence of Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, who attended as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Minister Hussain paid rich tributes to Pakistan Schools Oman for its five decades of distinguished service, describing the institution as “a beacon of discipline, quality education, and intercultural harmony, not only for the Pakistani community but also for students of other nationalities.”
The Golden Jubilee celebration brought together a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, officials, and diplomats from Oman, Pakistan, and several friendly nations. Among the notable attendees were Dr. Khadija Al-Salmi, Director General, Ministry of Education and Training, Oman; Ms. Yusra Al-Harthi, Head of UNESCO Oman; Salem Al-Mahrouqi, Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura; Dr. Ali Al-Harassi, Member of Majlis Al-Shura; Senator Awais Baqwei; Sheikh Najib Al-Zadjali; and Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman. Ambassadors from the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, China, Sudan, and other countries were also present.
In his message, Ambassador Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari emphasized that “Pakistan–Oman relations continue to strengthen through mutual cooperation in education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.”
Addressing the audience, Ameer Hamza, Chairman of the Board of Directors, reflected on the institution’s remarkable fifty-year journey, highlighting that “Pakistan Schools Oman is the only non-profit Pakistani educational institution in the Gulf region that continues to grow sustainably through its own resources and unwavering commitment. Our foundation is built upon transparency, integrity, and sound governance.”
He announced that, for the first time in a decade, a comprehensive external audit of Pakistan Schools Oman had been successfully completed — a historic milestone that underscores the institution’s strong commitment to financial transparency and accountability.
Hamza further noted that student enrolment had doubled over the past three years, reflecting the trust of parents, the dedication of teachers, and the institution’s enduring reputation for academic excellence.
Future Vision and Development Projects
As part of its forward-looking vision, Pakistan Schools Oman has embarked on three major infrastructure projects worth over OMR 5 million, designed to transform the educational landscape for future generations.
These projects include:
- The New Mabela Campus, a state-of-the-art facility featuring modern classrooms, digital learning spaces, and sports amenities.
- The Sohar School Expansion Project, encompassing a new academic block and advanced science laboratories.
- The Nizwa and Buraimi Development Initiative, focused on upgrading facilities, establishing innovation hubs, and improving accessibility for students across the region.
Hamza stated that these initiatives reflect the institution’s long-term commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence, ensuring that Pakistan Schools Oman remains a leading model of community-based education in the Gulf.
The Golden Jubilee event drew a large gathering of community members, alumni, parents, teachers, and students, all united in celebrating this historic milestone.
The celebration marked not only a half-century of service, integrity, and educational achievement but also reaffirmed that through vision, transparency, and steadfast determination, Pakistan Schools Oman continues to shape a brighter and more inclusive future for generations to come.
